Wine and pizza lovers have a chance to indulge their passions on 23 October at Weymouth’s Aura Cafe Bar, and help Weymouth Round Table raise money for local good causes.
Mark Banham from Dorchester-based wine experts Morrish & Banham will guide tasters through a hand-picked selection of six wines from England to India, including sparkling, whites, a pink and reds. Known for his approachable, friendly style, Mark will teach tasting tips, helping people discover some new, soon-to-be favourite wines. They can even order a bottle or two of any tipple that takes their fancy.
There will be tasty treats to eat too, with Charlie Flavell from The Portland Pizza Company bringing starters, hand-made pizzas and delicious cheeses down to the Esplanade.
Brett Dunster from Aura Cafe Bar said:
“We’ve recently re-launched Weymouth Round Table and as Chairman, I’m excited to be hosting this event at Aura Cafe Bar. It’s going to be a great evening – what better way to raise money for good causes in our community than sampling some quality wines and eating delicious local food? We’d love to see as many people there as possible.
“We’re also keen to hear from local charities, community groups or people looking for help from the Round Table. It’s straightforward to put in a donation request through our website. And for anyone who can’t join us at the wine-tasting but who’d like to make a donation, that’s easily done through our website too.”
The wine and pizza event starts at 7pm at Aura Cafe Bar. Tickets are £35 per person.
