Weymouth & Portland Round Table are pleased to fund a life-saving defibrillator outside Bennett’s Fish & Chips at Weymouth Harbourside.

The lifesaving machine was funded by donations and contributions at the south Dorset’s premier family festival Summerfest on 8th June 2024.

Round table members (pictured above) visited Bennets on Weymouth’s harbourside to view the new machine.

Weymouth and Portland Round Table Chairman Kyle Holmes said:

It is an honour to play an integral part in the Weymouth community, such as our recent purchase of a lifesaving defibrillator for the harbourside.

A ‘defib’ or defibrillator is a device that delivers an electric shock to the heart to restore a normal heartbeat, used to treat life-threatening cardiac condtions like cardiac arrest. They are vital in the early stages of an arrest, so Bennnets on the busy harbour us an ideal location.
