Thank you to everyone that came along or supported our Charity Race Night event at the Famous Old Spa pub on Dorchester Road on the 7th of May.

Table Chairman Adam Luckhurst said:

“It was a superb night of entertainment and I would like to thank the Spa’s team for hosting the event and looking after everyone so well. I’d also like to pay tribute to everyone that came along, placed a bet or dug deep to buy a ticket for our charity raffle, of all which helped us raise over £2500 for local good causes.”

It’s thanks to the good will and generosity of local people that Weymouth and Portland Round Table, run exclusively by dedicated volunteers, can continue to donate to local good causes across the community, including £300 for Chickerell First School recently for a sensory garden.

More donations are set to follow in coming weeks, please complete our contact form if you would like your local charity, sports club or organisation would like to apply.

Adam and Round Table Team are now busy planning more events for 2022 and beyond. These include a family fun run, celebrity speaker event and race night for 2022 with a signature community fundraising event in the planning for 2023.

The table re-established itself in 2019 after an absence of many years in the town, quickly signing-up new volunteer members and raising some £15,000 for good causes, despite fundraising efforts being curtailed by Covid.

2022 has seen the table expanded to include Portland, and will now be known as Weymouth and Portland Round Table. The move recognises the close bonds between the two communities, will bring benefits to both areas and give the table a strong voice locally.

The Round Table is a registered charity made up of committed volunteers that want to make a positive difference to the town. They bring with them varying backgrounds, trades, skills and talents with an ethos of loyalty, tradition and good will.
